Is Life Fair?

Insight from Imam Ash-Shafi

The legend, the one, the only, Muhammad Ibn Idrees Ash-Shafi once stated:

تموت الأسد في الغابات جوعًا

ولحم الضأن تأكله الكلاب

وعبد قد ينام على حرير

وذو نسب مفارشه التراب

Lions can die in the jungle from hunger,
Dogs can partake in the meat of livestock,
Wrongdoers can sleep on sheets of silk,
Whilst the honourable sleep on sheets of soil.

This short poem serves to be a lesson, despite what one may believe is rightfully, logically and rationally the correct result for a convention, this may not always be the case.

Life is truly interestingly random, so be grateful for the little things she throws at you.

If you liked this short translated poem and the layout of this article, give me a clap and if you really want to be nice, buy me a coffee!
